Quality of PV Power Plants July, 18th 2013 - Ankara

Venue: "ODTÜ Merkez Mühendislik Binası MM-25 Amfisi"

2013 is expected to be a critical year for the development of Turkish solar industry. The most positive prospects are expected to be found in the small-scale PV market, since projects under 1 MW are not required to obtain a production license. A total of 50-60 MW new photovoltaic capacity is being projected to be installed in Turkey during the next year via such unlicensed projects. Additionally, in the first license application round for a total of 600 MW PV projects larger than 1 MW (Fig. 1) has been completed by exceeding the proposed capacity by 15 times with 496 applications made to Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) reaching 8,9 GW in total. Turkish Electricity Transmission Company (TEIAS) is expected soon to publish the list of grid connection points and capacity of all the projects and announce the date, place and time for the tender. The tender for total 600 MW begin a minimum of 30 days after TEIAS publishes the list.

Quality, performance monitoring, measurement, data logging, maintenance economic analysis aspects of the PV plants should be taken care by the investors and the installers and also the licensing bodies. Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy (ISE), the leading solar energy research institute in Europe will present the participants comprehensive information about quality standards of PV power plants as well as the latest results of their researches and "-real life experiences-". The department Quality Assurance of PV Modules and Power Plants of the renowned Solar Institute Fraunhofer ISE holds key expertise in the field of Quality Assurance and Quality Infrastructure Development and has gained vast experience in projects in Germany, Spain and India over more than a decade. Furthermore the department can count with scientific backup support for any question that might arise, as Europe`s largest Solar Institute has experts in practically any field of Photovoltaics and Policy Development. Please refer to the attached file for more details about Fraunhofer ISE`s statement on expertise in quality infrastructure in the PV sector.
